I too have had problems with the assessor ladder,I had all but given up after getting A1* a few years ago, but I had a nice friendly and informative discussion with the bods at BCU coaching last week, things are looking up now, and we're back on track. A plea to all of you getting ready to post off for next season(some have already begun to trickle in)Try and wait 'til March - please! I can't do anything about it until we have reset the database for the new season - which I can't do until I have extracted all the end of season summaries etc.. 4 - As there is a limited number of courses per year having to go through the courses in a pre-determined order delays the process indefinitely. I believe that potential assessors should be allowed to gather signatures for different courses simultaneously (allowed more than one log book at a time) , although the assessor status should only be 'activated' upon the completion of the lower status signatures being gained. e.g.. If I assist on two level 1 courses and gain signatures, and then later in the year assist on two 4 star courses and gain signatures I should then become an A2 assessor? - rather than having to assist on a further two level 1 courses (after all I would have proved my competency at both levels?) It would be prudent to allow a time period for this? e.g.. only courses assisted on within the previous 12 months can be 'back dated'?
